It was quite serene to sit on the rocks and watch the autumn leaves flutter down from the branches above to settle in Laurel Creek. The soft white noise of the rushing cascade easily allows thoughts to wander amongst the contiguous forest. Though much of the surrounding mountains were a rusty brown from the unseasonably warm weather and drought, these creeks and streams tucked between the foothills maintained enough moisture to offer these colorful and picturesque scenes.
