The silence at these overlooks is enthralling. A place where you can almost hear your heart beat. As I waited for the sun to rise above the horizon, a particularly large raven swooped up from the cliffside below. I was startled not by it’s presence, but by the sound of it’s wings flapping. Each feather produced an audible vibrated flutter as it swept through the dry air. Upon noticing my attention, the blackbird let out a resounding ‘cacaw’ which echoed through the canyon below.
