In the dry arid landscape of Death Valley National Park, you’ll find yourself walking among the many mineral deposits near the mountain ranges. When storms do pass through the valley, the waters wash over the impermeable clay layers and funnels it’s way downward. Gullies and ravines in Golden Canyon are a formation result of the fast moving water’s erosion. These badlands really are a bad place to be in the event of a flash flood.
