Walk the ridges and follow the lines of the sedimentary layers in Badlands National Park and you will be taken back in time. Deposits of sand, silt and clay have been layered over millions of years from a variety of different environments such as a sea, tropical land, and even a woodland with meandering rivers. As we see it today, the erosion has begun uncovering the past, providing a peak into the history of our world.
