If you stop and consider, for a moment, the amount of time it would take for a single type of tree to spread across the landscape… One tree drops it’s seeds and they grow into new saplings near the parent’s roots. Those new trees grow tall and repeat the same process. Assisted by forgetful squirrels, migrating birds and other foraging wildlife, soon a ridge-line has been propagated. A few seasons pass and distant hills have sprouted new generations. Hundreds of years pass and mature trees have fallen to re-enrich the soils below in a cycle that continues to grow.
